Teamwork makes the dreamwork.

Do you think that the teamwork in school is important?
As a future teacher I would like to mention some important points that I have learnt about this topic during my classes of English language didactics. First of all, teambuilding is a process of buiding teams. Not merely putting students together to work, but turning them into a cooperative and caring team.
The aims of this activity are following:
  • getting acquainted (we create positive atmosphere in the classroom)
  • team identity (sense of ownership, solidarity with the peers)
  • mutual support
  • valuing differences (tolerate diversity)
  • developing synergy (together everyone achieves more)
By working cooperatively teachers can better identify students´ needs and plan for their success. Also this type of activity helps promote a positive team and classroom climate, provide students the skills to work with others. As a consequence it will be of great utility for them in future because such skills are essential if our students of today will work well in the terms of diversity.
In my opinion the teamwork develops many positive qualities. Students learn how they can understand each other better or to know when they have to concede. I really think that the Team-Buidling activity helps to create a sense of community in the classroom.
